Looking for another great lake to escape to and spend the day out on a boat with your friends? You are looking for Lake Mendocino, I promise. Just north of Ukiah this bad boy covers 1,922 acres and offers an epic disc golf course (who doesn’t love disc golf?!), boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, and over 15 miles for hiking and biking. Lake Mendocino has over 300 campsites plus a small number of boat-in only sites for the cool kids.
The lake is littered with trails that surround the 700-acre wildlife. Throughout the lake there are five large areas with covered picnic tables and barbeques! Summer just screams barbecue! Yum. There is also some legit fishing going on at Lake Mendocino, you can fish for large and small mouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish! Needless to say there is plenty to do at Lake Mendocino!
The lake has two boat ramps at the north and south end of the lake and three separate campsites – Bushay Campground, Kyen Campground, and Chekaka Campground. All the campsites are equally fantastic, so you really can’t go wrong with any of them, let along anything you do on the lake!
Lake Mendocino is a great spot to spend time with friends and family. Don’t wait to jump on great opportunities to get out and live the lake life! Please, just get out on the water and have a great time! Go grill, fish, hike, bike, camp, and relax! These are the wishes of SRSS. Peace!
